Jean-Sébastien PROULX MAHER

Vice President Finance & Treasury - CAE Group

With over 18 years of experience in finance, mainly in treasury, Jean-Sebastien Proulx Maher was appointed Vice President and Treasurer, Finance at CAE in June 2021. He oversees the treasury management within CAE, providing leadership and direction to the company in order to maintain an optimal capital structure and ensure appropriate financing to support the business strategy and growth.

His strong international background rapidly allowed him to implement significant cash management optimizations and cost savings initiatives. Among his latest accomplishments, he successfully launched CAE’s first ever public debt offering in the Canadian market and led the closing of an annuity purchase transaction in which portion of pension obligations were transferred to a third-party insurer.  

Prior to joining CAE, he held the position of Vice President, Treasury at SNC-Lavalin (now AtkinsRéalis), where he led the treasury function of the global engineering firm. Early in his career at AtkinsRéalis, Jean-Sebastien relocated to Europe, where he stayed for 9 years, to take a role in Financial Planning and subsequently moved into the Treasury filed. In 2013, he returned to Montreal with a mandate that increasingly broadened over the years.

Jean-Sébastien holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a specialization in accounting from HEC Montréal, as well as a Certified Professional Accountant certification.

He will discuss with us the establishment of a public debt regime in a context of high volatility.
